About the Role
Hoffman Homes is a community of employees gathered on one campus to help youth and young adults understand and manage their mental health diagnosis.
The education department (Hoffman Academy) at Hoffman Homes Inc. is accepting applicants for the position of Personal Care Assistant (PCA). This position is assigned to one specific student to provide academic, behavioral, emotional, and potentially physical support throughout the school day.
The PCA works closely with the assigned student's educational team to implement strategies outlined in the student's IEP and behavior plan. This role requires patience, empathy, and the ability to build a trusting relationship with the student. The PCA position follows the school calendar and is eligible for benefits.
Requirements
- Experience working with individuals with behavioral or emotional needs preferred.
- Must have a strong desire to help at-risk youth on a one-to-one basis.
- Ability to remain calm and make good decisions in challenging situations.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with teachers and clinical staff.
- Must be able to complete clear and legible documentation.
