Therapeutic Shelter Program
Providing a safe and therapeutic environment to individuals who are in need of hope.

Where Healing Begins
Hoffman Homes offers a therapeutic shelter program for males and females ages 7-21 who are in the custody of PA Department of Human Services or Children, Youth & Family Services.
For many of the individuals who come to us, this is the first place they have felt truly safe. Our team provides trauma-informed care, structured routines, and genuine relationships that help each person begin to rebuild trust, confidence, and hope.
Life at the Shelter

Every day at the shelter follows a thoughtful rhythm designed to provide stability. Mornings begin with breakfast and check-ins. When applicable, individuals attend classes at Hoffman Academy. Afternoons bring creative therapies, outdoor activities, and time with therapy animals.
Evenings are for group sessions, recreation, and quiet time. Throughout it all, trained staff are present, providing the consistent care and encouragement that every young person deserves.
“We don’t just provide shelter. We provide a place where young people can begin to feel like themselves again.”
How We Support Each Individual
Trauma-Informed Care
Our staff are trained in trauma-informed practices, providing care, support, and supervision that meets each individual where they are on their healing journey.
Education Services
When applicable, residents continue their education through Hoffman Academy, ensuring academic progress is not disrupted during their stay.
Structured Activities
A thoughtfully planned daily schedule provides consistency, routine, and opportunities for recreation, social connection, and personal growth.
Group Therapy
Facilitated group sessions help residents build social skills, practice healthy communication, and find support among peers who understand their experience.
Creative Therapies
Shelter residents have access to Art Therapy, Animal-Assisted Therapy, Drama Therapy, and Equine-Assisted Therapy. These creative approaches give young people alternative ways to express emotions, build confidence, and develop coping skills when words alone are not enough.
Sessions run in small groups and are tailored to each individual’s needs and comfort level. Participation is always voluntary.
